One Answer to “What Causes Hair Loss in Children?”

  1. Emma Says:

There are many possible causes for hair loss in children, including alopecia areata where the body attacks your hair, fungal infections like tinea capitis and telogen effluvium, which means hair strands enter prematurely the “resting phase” of the hair life cycle, and fall off before time. This, for children and adults alike, is caused often by stressors.

While some causes for hair loss in children are only remporary, a large percentage of children suffer permanent hair loss, so it is a good idea to consult your family doctor.
