Does Wearing a Hat Make You Go Bald?

Can you go bald from wearing a hat or is it just a myth?

I have read that it prevents your hair follicles from breathing which can result in balding.

No, this is a myth. You cannot go bald from wearing a hat.

This common misconception is the result of the assumption that wearing a hat causes your hair follicles to “not breath”.

Actually, hair is not a live organ and the blood stream supplies it with what it needs to grow stronger.
However, there are 2 things that do connect wearing a hat and hair loss: wearing a hat too tightly might cause some hair strands to get pulled out (because of friction), and wearing a hat might disguise the fact hair is oily and requires a wash, before hair follicles start suffering from the excess oil.

Wearing a hat too tightly can cause friction that will pull hairs out. Even if this happens, the only thing you should do is wear a hat so it sits loosely on your head and your hear will grow back fine.
