    Some studies have shown that iron deficiency can worsen a pre-existing hair loss condition.

    This means that while people who are eating properly and getting sufficient levels of iron in their diet (or with the help of food supplements) cannot grow more hair by getting more iron, BUT those that actually suffer from iron deficiency can expect an improvement in hair growth once they increase their levels of iron.
