My dad has been taking spironolactone, he is 44 and his frontal hair is gone. It was thinning for some time now but is actually gotten worse from the time he started taking this medication.

    The primary use of Spironolactone is to treat hypertension. High blood pressure might be connected to hair loss.

    However, Spironolactone is also subscribed to women for hair loss (which actually makes it very unlikely to damage hair at all).

    In any case, Spironolactone cannot cause hair loss.
    It has some grave possible side effects, but none of those include hair thinning or head hair loss.
