Can Doryx Cause Excessive Hair Growth?

Question:

My doctor prescribed Doryx (doxycycline) for me and I have been taking it for the past 30 days.
I think I have one of the more severe reactions to the drug (compared to what my doctor is warned me from) and wanted to know – Can Doryx cause excessive hair growth?

Answer:

No researches have found any connection between Doryx and excessive hair growth.
If anything, users of Doryx report that they have experienced some hair loss after starting to take the drug.

However, Doryx is a medication that is prescribed, in some cases, to treat acne, which is caused by hormonal imbalance and this can cause excessive facial hair growth.

In any case, consulting the doctor the prescribe a medication for you is advisable.
